Cloudy Days in the Coop - My Adventures with Chickens.

I bet she feels better too! Did YOU need a bath afterwards?? Now hopefully she stays clean for a while.

Happy New Year Lucy!! :hugs
To be honest, I’m pretty sure Mochi decided to get back at me, and on the occasions that she flapped, she made sure to cover me in mud!
I hope in this new year you will find peace, hope, and comfort, Leyla! :hugs

Mochi just wanted you to share her bath! :D

Same to you Lucy, I hope your heart finds peace, courage and love all year long. :hugs

Also, I was scrolling through the pictures I took while bathing her, and found this one from when I was washing her top knot. Looking back, she kind of looks like a Viking or something, doesn’t she?

Hey, everyone! Today, seeing that this downpour wasn’t going to stop anytime soon, I embraced the rain and cleaned out the chicken coop. :) Now the girls have a cozy home, plus some new things I added to their run! The Christmas tree went into there, and the chickens have been enjoying inspecting it, hopping onto it, and scratching around its branches. (And don’t worry, the tree doesn’t have any chemicals or anything else that could harm them. ;))
I was going to add some straw to their run too, but when I went to get the straw, I found in the bag a huge, gigantic, rat. I nearly had a heart attack, it caught me so off guard! But upon more inspection, I discovered that it was dead. So I...disposed of it. I wasn't sure why it died in there, but to play it safe, I got rid of the bag. That rat was almost a foot long.
Anyway...the coop is now warm and cozy, scrubbed, dusted, fresh bedding, and all. :D (Though, the roosts do have some stains from the mud the hens tracked in, but it’s a coop. I don't expect the chickens to keep it spotless. :D )

Yuck, rats. I have done the same thing with mice recently, but mice are mice and rats are...rats! :sick

I'm sure they love that tree! Too bad our tree is fake.

It looks so warmly wet outside, but the coop looks dry and cozy! I just want to go hang out in your coop! Is that a weird impulse? Yeah, I think it is.
