Hey, everyone! Today, seeing that this downpour wasn’t going to stop anytime soon, I embraced the rain and cleaned out the chicken coop.

Now the girls have a cozy home, plus some new things I added to their run! The Christmas tree went into there, and the chickens have been enjoying inspecting it, hopping onto it, and scratching around its branches. (And don’t worry, the tree doesn’t have any chemicals or anything else that could harm them.

)
I
was going to add some straw to their run too, but when I went to get the straw, I found in the bag a huge, gigantic, rat. I nearly had a heart attack, it caught me so off guard! But upon more inspection, I discovered that it was dead. So I...disposed of it. I wasn't sure why it died in there, but to play it safe, I got rid of the bag. That rat was almost a foot long.
Anyway...the coop is now warm and cozy, scrubbed, dusted, fresh bedding, and all.

(Though, the roosts do have some stains from the mud the hens tracked in, but it’s a coop. I don't expect the chickens to keep it spotless.
