Cochin Thread!!!

Thanks dak, how are your large fowl gold laced doing? I couldn't get over how great the cross to black worked out for you. They looked great!
Sorry it took me so long to get back. I was at a conference without my computer.

I have hatched about 60 of the f3s, and culled down to 20ish so far. Pattern is getting closer. I have 5-6 pullets that I think will be worth keeping, however, I am still waiting on the cockerels. Pattern takes so much longer to develop in the males.

Unfortunately, some of the best patterned birds reverted back to the stiffer GCL feathering, but there are a few gems I'm watching closely. I don't want to think of the 1000s in feed I have into this project for the resulting handful of birds.

I would love some frizzle Cochins (full size) hatching eggs. Various colors would be great. Anyone having eggs within 2 hours of Homer, mi (49245) pm me with what you have, your cost and your location. Thanks

Sorry, GLC, Golden laced Cochin (LF).

I have a "project" going. I split to Black, bred the f1 splits together, and this year bred the f2s together. Trying to Improve GLC type and get back to the proper pattern. I actually have 2 correctly patterned pullets this year. and a few more that are darned close. Time will tell what I was able to hold on to as far as type.

Hello everyone I’m looking for a Blue or Splash or Lemon Blue or Mille Fleur pullet in or within 30 min of King, NC if you have or know who sales them please let me know. Thanks

I took a few pictures of some birds in the grow out pens. 1st 3 pictures are of birds in the Columbian -Buff Columbian grow pen. Last picture is of some young Blacks all less than 4 months old. Hope to find a few keepers in there.

I thought they looked amazing in the f2. especially as they were crossed to black. The lacing still looked very neat.
