Cochin Thread!!!

Nope checked there too nothing in my area I found some Easter egger chicks in our local paper today they are a couple weeks older but they should do!
I'm not sure what the age disparity is between your chick and the Craig's List babies, but if yours is only a few days old and the others are two weeks, be VERY careful. Watch them for a while to make sure that your little one doesn't get picked on. I've seen chicks at 1 day old go after a freshly hatched chick. I'm just saying...........................

My experience with this subject is different. A dog got in the run with my 2 week old Black Jersey Giant chicks and killed 16 of 17. The lone survivor was hiding under a cooler. I brought her inside while I re-fortified the run. She turned into a "velcro Chick", wanted to sit in my lap or on my shoulder every time she saw me. It was 2 days before I could get any new chicks at the feed store (got 3 golden sex links and 1 barred rock). I was worried about her killing them (she was 3x their size), but had no problems whatsoever, she immediately "adopted" them as her new flock.

Having trouble uploading pics, maybe later tonight when I get to my desktop. Like lilcrow said, keep an eye on the new littles to make sure there is no problem, but I don't think there will be.

OK, here are some pics of Jenny in her "velcro" phase, and with her adopted buddies.

I have a partridge Cochin who's about 6 weeks old. This is my first experience with a Cochin- I love her!!! Whenever I pick her up, she always contently sits down. She's my sweetest chicken
