From what I can see I would say yes, however I'm going to guess that his type may be in question.long story short seller in one post says they don't raise mixes but proceeds to say on another post that all they raise is mixes in both rabbits and chickens....so is this what they say it is?? there are no pics of the legs though

Still really new to Cochins and their colors, what color is this guy? He is beautiful.
~Ashley
Thank you - can you give me a reason as to what is wrong with his colour? Looking to learn. He is constantly changingProbably Partridge would be the closest accurate description. Color is not quite right and yet a very good looking bird.
In addition to the accurate info you've received, I would suggest that you not include your whites in the self-blue program you are starting. I don't know what you would get, but it would not be of any use in breeding self-blues and would only serve to muddle things. Thanks both. Neither of the two self blue have good cochin type. They are about 6 weeks old now and still in quarantine for another week. This week is the first week they are both without baby fuzz and have proper feathers. My plan is to breed them to my black cochins who are much typier, and get one more self blue pullet.
The girl is below(black beak) notice the partial feathering on the middle toe
And the one i am convinced is a boy (breeder who sold them to me told me this was a girl.), yellow beak. Almost complete lack of feathering on the middle toe.

I havent linked to it but I am always wary of any add that says 'show quality'. Like others have said, you take your chances with eggs. Maybe you cab drive ther? I dont recognize the name. However, I usually do not buy hatching eggs. I used to and usually spent too much money for poor results. But, I have been rewarded a few times with some very nice birds. It is a gamble. I bought some eggs just recently for the first time in over a year and a half two years and know the person has greaat birds. I will have to wait to see if my hatching techniques are up to par.![]()
ps OK I linked to it. My computer is old. I see one small picture in the bottom left. It looks like a nice bird. I would be happier with 12 eggs instead of 8 but hey. The person has good feedback. Thats about all I can say.
ppss personally I would only buy eggs from someone that I have known or know from BYC that I am comfortable with. OK Im done now
