Hello! So I have 6½ week old chicks that I have hand raised as our broody bantam rejected them completely. I have 2 black Australorps, 1 Buff Orpington, and 1 Easter Egger (was sold as an Araucana but I'm fairly certain that's not the case)

All were bought at a local feed store and were marked as pullets. I know my Orpington, Poppy, is definitely a pullet. Rosemary and Juniper, my two Australorps, had me a bit suspicious for a while but I'm reasonably sure they're also both pullets. BUT, my Easter Egger (originally named Violet, but now being referred to as V until we know for sure) has me very suspicious. I'm leaning heavily towards he/she being a roo. I know pea combs on Easter Eggers can be tricky, same with feather colors/patterns.

Because of V's comb (looks like triple pea), behavior, and the rusty brown feathers coming through across V's shoulders, I'm thinking roo. See what you guys think?

I think you are right with this one. The large comb and the red near the wings both are indications that this is a cockerel.
Not bad for the first time guessing chick genders then 😆

So far V is very well behaved, if he continues being a gentleman then I have no problem keeping him. We're out in the country and have plenty of room, and he would be the only rooster among 6 girls.
