Ok, I'm feeling really disgusted ATM...I lived on the Eastern side of the US during 9-11. It impacted me a lot. Few years later I moved out west. When talking to the people there many said it was hard to grasp because it happened so far away, and they didn't know anyone that was impacted.
Ok, I get that.

But this thing is world wide. Every state. Every country. Every Nation. Every continent.
How are people not getting this??

...sorry, rant over.

Again here on the East coast most folks have gotten the message. We have peaked, and incidence APPEARS to be decreasing. A gradual, intelligent, reopening is underway . Elsewhere in the country there are states with increasing cases - they really thought they would get away unscathed ? By the end of the day the country will have experienced more than 100,000 deaths. All of those people were loved by someone, and most died alone and in isolation. :(

I’m not going to church either but I’m confused on everything.

First they said you could get it by touching things and then touching your face then they said that you couldn’t get it that wayFirst they said you could get it by touching things and then touching your face then they said that you couldn’t get it that way... all of it is confusing

You have to look around and see what is really going on in your area and make the best decisions for you. I think we've been fed a line about this mess but have still restricted my travels and avoid large crowds but that's nothing new for me.

I know at the start they were overcautious because of the unknowns early on but as information comes in they should be reacting to that but to me don't seem to be.

We passed that number a few hours ago. 😢

I'm in VA. I know NOVA has been hit much harder than southern/non-coastal portions portions of VA...and I'm just aghast at how unconcerned people are all over the state.

Y'all are just now really getting this mess on your doorstep. It's real; and if we are overcautious about things, so be it. If, after all the precautions and warnings and overcompensation are done, you and yours are still untouched by the mess this has caused, remember that THAT was the WHOLE POINT! Not all of us were that lucky.
Be careful and stay safe.

That line hit home so hard that I'm fighting tears. Please pray for our Myra and Miss Mary. - one is on a ventilator (and no, there are no other health issues,) the other is safe ATM, but stuck in a nursing home with (blessedly waning) covid cases in-house.

Think of this as mystery. And by that I mean forensically speaking. Every where you go you enter a building or room thinking of how NOT to disturb the evidence while you are in there.
I love this!!!! Hahah

That's my thinking as well!
Of course, I was already a homebody anyway.

Yeah, this is us too, and thankfully our kids are used to it as well so the natives here in our home are not too restless, thank God.

Here they are telling folks that kids under 12 don't need the masks.
VA says they require anyone 10 and up to wear them. They do state 2 and up should be wearing them though.

Each state has different requirements/dictates as far as kids and masks, that's why you're going to see all sorts of things as far as kids go.

Here it's under 2 should not wear them due to risk of asphyxiation. Recommended that kids 2-12 should, but only with adult supervision. So I see maybe 50/50 split as far as kids in masks.

9/11 would probably feel more distant to me here on the west coast except my NYC friend reminds me of it each year. She said even though she hadn't lost anyone close to her, she had people close to her that had, and that's how it went for the whole city - no more than 2 degrees of separation between you and someone who'd lost someone close to them.
