Thank you!!! This is extremely helpful. I think I actually found that article earlier but it wasn’t really clear if they should definitely be culled when they’re as bad as he is?? He can barely walk :(

You are so up to date! I love people that can pass information that's truly good, not a bunch of heresay.

Face mask are considered useful here if you are an asymptomatic carrier of the virus. With regard to preventing you catching the virus they are next to useless. The wearing of gloves is also mostly pointless. Using a sanitizer or proper washing of hands after shopping for example and of course, not touching your face is believed to work best.
I've seen quite a few people pull their masks down with gloved hands to use a mobile phone, put the phone back in their pockets and replace the mask.
I carry a small bottle of 96% alcohol and a face flannel which is soaked in the alcohol. I wipe my hands with the alcohol and flannel after leaving the shop and wash again with soap and water at the earliest opportunity. The alcohol and rag is also handy for wiping handles etc.
One positive thing I've noticed about using face masks - people are much better about the 6 foot/2 meter spacing, now. The masks are a visible reminder that ANYone can be a carrier.

Other wild birds can be carriers to your chicken.

l Absolutely. My "Typhoid Mary" came from a breeder. That was the only time I broke my own rule of not adding outside birds. I would say that if she had been vacinated but exposed, or sold prior to symptoms, one may never know including the seller.

I find that wild birds can transport the virus if there's some chickens in your area that have it and the wild birds carry the dander.

I stand corrected; couldn't find a Marek's test done on live chickens. I did think there was something, but not now, as far as I can tell. Call the vet path lab folks tomorrow, sorry.
Mary
There is a blood test but I have seen some on here get this blood test and it not be correct.
I do not believe in it yet.

Don't be sorry. I hear that on and off as well. Texas A&M I believe do test blood. Do I know how good it is? No.

That’s okay. Thank you anyway. I don’t think I would want to prolong his suffering anyway so I think I will do it tomorrow
