Coronavirus, Covid 19 Discussion and How It Has Affected Your Daily Life Chat Thread

I feel it’s also a terrible idea. Most people I know think it’s a terrible idea.

They said 50% for universal but I’m not entirely sure about Disney for capacity.

They’re trying to make it safe as possible but opening up doesn’t seem to be safe to me.
The only good I can possibly see coming out of reopening is that hundreds of people will have paycheck coming in again. Hopefully, they won't have to lose it again if they get sick. :fl

He just got cleared for the age of an EKG. It started off as innocent but they can still hear it. So, we get to go to the primary to see a pediatric heart specialist. He’s only 7.

That’s wonderful they’ve been very cautious for the hospital.

What great parents you have to still worry about you and love you so much! It just shows us our parents are the first heroes we meet when they fight so hard for us to stay healthy.

Good luck on your infusion and stay healthy.
Prayers for you and your son! They're doing wonderful things now with youngsters. One of "my" school kids had emergency open heart surgery at nine. He's now an active athlete in high school!

Glad most people seem to agree!! Haha

And that’s good they’re doing 50% but even 50% is still quite a lot of people for such a large park!!! Plus everybody touching all the rides and games and stuff. How could they possibly sanitize everything?

And yeah I agree!!! Even with precautions, it just seems like such a bad idea!! Amusement parks and sporting events and all those huge events like that should be one of the last things to open!!
So ... here in Maryland, we can't go to church, yet, but we can visit Mickey & Harry? Sounds like Voldemort's got a hand in this, somewhere!

I feel terrible for the Disney employees. No choice to if or want to go back to work. The majority under our failed (and our state pays the lowest for unemployment benefits ) haven’t even gotten a cent yet.

Lines upon lines for food bank with just Disney employees and other theme park employees. The Disney union (not actually Disney) hosted a food bank line

Shouldn’t their employees mean just as much as customers? They’re the ones who are supporting the business, their crazy rules they have for their poor employees, and terrible working conditions for their characters (I’ve known Disney actors and actresses characters...and many people who have or do work with In the park).

Health and safety over everything should be the current rhetoric right now. But it really isn’t.
Wait 'til they have to pay all the wages and overhead costs of being open ... and they lose money because people are smart enough to stay away. Either that, or fools ... err, I mean tourists ... will come anyway, and BOOM ... the second wave flies home to spread again!

I think many have seen the video. I know it's still probably too soon, but has there been a rise in cases yet? I'm hoping not.
At the same time I'm rather dreading the rise that is probably coming in states where people have been less cautious or went all out for the holiday weekend.

And I agree with you.
My brother was trapped in Louisiana for nearly two months. He was prepping his house there, to sell it and retire back home, but New Orleans insisted - against all advice, medical and beyond - on having Mardi Gras. By the time the cases spiked, he'd been out and about meeting realtors, purchasing supplies, dealing with contractors and an open house. He waited another three weeks past all that to make sure he didn't bring anything back to his daughter and my Dad. He's finally home. The house hasn't sold, and may not for a good while, now ... but at least we know he's safe!

**If everyone was concient
** EDIT to remove an incomplete sentence.

The word was "conscientious" As in, "If everyone was conscientious about it, no one would need the reminders." Education shows.
Bait Not Taken.
There was no bait from me, I simply did not recognize the word other than in Latin, but the context didn't work.

I guess being conscientious is a matter of perspective.
