Cream Legbar Hybrid Thread

Pics
Just got my first pullet egg from a CLBxRIR cross. The pullet on the left is the one that laid this egg. By looking at the OAC chart, this egg comes in as an OAC 60, a very light green.

For a pullet egg, it came in a decent 1.6 ounces for a first egg. My cream legbars usually start at 1.2-1.3 ounces get larger from there.

These could pass as EE. They have the same coloration the beards just moved to the back of their heads

no, I have yet to see a wildtype looking EE, most EEs are eb based giving the females a different look, BUT if you have seen one EE that look like it let me know oh boy they seem to come on any color under the rainbow... http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/a/a5/Gem_(Easter_Egger_hen).jpg http://michiganlastchanceranch.webs.com/SUNSHINE.JPG
ive seen hundreds of EE that are that color brown and have the same neck hackle color. Is one of the most common EE colors for hens

FWIW, you may check out the chick pictures of these two CLBxRIR from earlier posts.

The following pictures are of the CCLxRIR pullets on hatching day: Pullet #1 was the one that laid the light green egg.

Pullet #1

Pullet #2

The following pictures at one week of age are much more definitive. You will see heavy chipmunk striping and CCL eye liner as well as the RIR center strip down the back of the head. What you will not see is any indication of a white spot on the head of these chicks.

Pullet #1

Pullet #2

Both chicks together

At week two, my growing hybrids:

CCLx RIR (projected pullets) The one with the crooked toes on the left was the one that laid the light green egg.

I think it is a hoot to see pictures of my chickens pop up like this!

Chipmonk was one of the first chicks I hatched. She lays a huge light green egg.

LOL that's funny that she is yours. People must love your chickens if they are using them as examples :)
