Cream Legbars

Love your humor normanack -

Now just hope that there aren't any freeloaders that just take advantage of your sign - can't hear him but help themselves to free eggs. Naw!

lonnyandrinda---

I always wondered what a CLegger would be like--- crested & barred like I projected -- and probably olive eggs. Huh?

Why would it lay olive eggs? I assumed Ameraucana (blue eggs) X Cream Legbar (blue eggs) would definitely be blue egg layer. My Ameraucana and Cream Legbar eggs are the exact same shades- if I don't mark them as I take them out of the coops I confuse them!

I did make some crosses I am anxious to see grow out- White Leghorn X Cream Legbar. All chicks hatched as little white fluffies. We'll see how dominant the white is vs the barring as they grow I guess!

Sorry - I had a brain-fade, I thought that you said mom was Marans. Duh.

Yes, it will be blue.

Here is Percy, my rooster. Please don't mind his tail- the breeze caught it at just the wrong moment but I stuck with this picture because I thought it fun. It was his first meet and greet with the baby girls. I'm pretty satisfied with his conformation but would like to get him a little "Creamier". He is less than a year old so that may still come along, though.

I will try a different (not windy) day to get a better picture of that tail.
