Let a few birds out of their tractors to get some freedom this morning 🙂🤟

So I lost my main breeder from previous pics this summer to a fox. I saved my favorite son, hes barred but split to partridge. I also saved a nice partridge hen, and 2 crele hens. The crele hens arent showing too much promise but I'll cross the son x partridge daughter and keep all crele hens i get from them next spring. I'll also cross the son x the f1 barred split hens and keep the best double barred crele male. Keep the best trio then go from there. Slow progression but its moving along.

Your rooster boys are gorgeous! The poppa was amazing, how sad that you lost him :-( Thanks for sending me the link to this thread! I will enjoy the updates. Maybe when you have all the yellow leg issues worked out I will have room for some babies 😬😬😬
Thank you! They are a fun group to watch run around. I used the original EE cock in the first photos over white and black ameraucanas from Paul Smith to start this line. They have a lot of spunk in them and lay nice big eggs. I hope to have all the birds clean of the recessive yellow gene in 2 years, but depending on how much effort I put in them it could be 3 years. Im just having fun with the line, but I'll be sure to keep updating as long as I have them ! 😊
