I'm just going to see what Walmart has in stock, I hope to heck they have lamb because it seems everyone will need that to do the sc around the edge. I don't know that it matters on the rest of the square, as long as you either change color on each round, or do solids. I think you only want 2 colors in the color changed squares, with lamb around the edge.

Duck, pea, duck, pea, lamb.

Thanks Girls, Ozark I think your squares will be wonderful just do the color ya wish, solid or combo. That is great

The order for the 16 combo colored squares with Berrylicious , Sweet pea Green then Duckie Yellow. Similar to the test square I did. Then yes Lamb for the sc edges, Ya don't have ta do the lamb if ya don't want I can do those if LC doesn't want to. As I really don't want to make this a chore I want everyone to enjoy themselves.

Thanks

I really think even a blanket with solid squares would be neat. Place them like EM did - would look as lovely as hers just in pastel shades.

Perhaps we can just make extra's and a solid block blankie can be put together for Jenn or Carrie?

Does Carrie know we have this thread going? I'm going to check on Jenn.

Wonderful Idea

Now that's getting the ball of yarn rolling.

I had thought for Jenn since she is having triplets we could even use what ever else anyone might have on hand or pattern they like as long as they are the same size, they would go together well. Mangled has offered to help assemble a couple of these. Good thinking Wild sky

What does everyone one else think???

Each of us would need to make about 30 squares each to make up 5 blankies. (with some squares left over, or rejected because of color or size etc.)
I think its doable.

Those squares don't take very long to put together, we have 2 gals to put the blankets together so we should be on a ROLL

Carrie is expecting a boy in 4 or 5 weeks I think. She's not around on line much (probably got her feet up!

)

I'm not sure if Jenn knows the genders of her little triplets.

Like I said, I'd be more than happy to assemble a blanket or 2 or 3.

My local Micheal's only had the Duckie Yellow.

Our Wal-mart only carries Red Heart and Caron.

But, that means I get to go yarn shopping on-line.

These small grannies really do work up quick.

I'm off here to clean house a bit, then I'll yarn shop!!

Em

Well, I have only walmart locally and their tiny selection of yarn did not include Vanna's Choice. I really wanted to make a trip to Michael's or JoAnn's, but that's an hour and fifteen minutes one way and right now, that would involve not only 4 yo DGS, but 20 mo. old DGD. Not sure we're ready for that!
I went shopping at JoAnn's on line today! It's on sale and there's free standard shipping (use code SAD011) thru Jan. 11. I think I'll do some practice squares and brush up on my color changing skills while waiting for the yarn to arrive.

Forgot to say.... Sam really is the man now, isn't he?

And I guess he is! So I can't sleep, the kids are being loud. So, I've decided to post a picture from earlier today. Its not nearly as cool as the first one, but, its triplets, and it's pretty cool in itself. smile

OB says A is most likely a boy, B is a boy, and C is a girl.
B is the only one he's not sure about.
A is Aiden Samuel Robinson
B is Ethan David (if girl Sydney Jean) Robinson
C is Madeline Gabriel Robinson

Also, I feel like saying "love is in the air" But to me thats a spring saying...But, I find it weird that I have two horses that are pregnant, my painted medicine hat pinto Cici, and my clydesdale Araiah, and here I am with triplets. It just goes to show how great men are wink big_smile And thank you everybody for your thoughts, me and Sam are very greatful. hugs

I am so glad everyone is finding the pattern easy. I thought it would be and I will assemble 1 of the afghans so it won't be so much for LC and Mangled.

Did I ever tell you guys that you are very wonderful folks. I love ya all

All I have in the Vanna Baby right now is the pea green, have some more ordered (none at walmart here) so I have 10 of the solid pea green made and the yarn is so fat though that I am having to use an F hook to get the 3 1/2" size right. I think the solid ones are pretty but I will do some multi ones when my other yarn gets here...
