Crochet "Chat"

Thanks, everyone, for the birthday wishes! The bling was great, and I just LOVE the ice cream cat! I had a great day, and go to go out with the whole family for dinner. Dh got me a cake (first one I've had in years!). There was a little boy in the restaurant who saw the cake & came over to wish me a Happy Birthday. When ds sends me the pic, I'll post it. He was soooo cute!
I think I've figured out that 49 isn't so bad. Maybe 50 won't be either. Yeah, right! But that's ok, I'm going to enjoy this year for all its worth.
Sounds like everyone's been super busy except for Parson's Wife. (And don't you dare feel guilty about that! Everyone deserves a break!) Hope all the stress & anxiety goes away - as well as the allergy issues everyone seems to have this time of year.
Okie, I've always had anxiety issues about tornados. Don't know exactly why, because I've never been in one, but when I was pregnant, I had nightmares about tornados. Oddly enough, they were the same ones I had when I was a kid, and they only came back during my preganancies. I've not had any since, either. But I do get very antsy when "that" weather comes around.
Everyone have a great weekend!

And do not kid yourself..let me be the bearer of bad news here..50 is HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Everyone calls you "mam" and you are OLD!!!! Good Morning...
Woke up to rain, rain and well.......... more rain
sad.png

Its rained EVERYDAY this week, our yard looks like a jungle, the grass needs cut so bad. Went and let the chickies out of their coop, they dont care if its raining. Dd14 has soccer game today, hoping they will cancel it. It really stinks that The Derby is today, not fun when it rains.

Have a nice day...

SE, You are so kind! I really appreciate the encouragement. As for the aches & pains, those have already started, and the gray hair has been here for years. But, shhh, don't tell anyone - most people think my hair really is blonde! Truth is that I have more gray than my 70 year-old mother!! That's okay, as long as there are chemicals in this world, I will be blonde. Better living through chemistry! (And that includes these darn wrinkles that have started showing themselves, too. Yuck!) I've already told dh that he needs to be planning the party for next year, and you are all invited!
Hope everyone's races, games, etc. go well today. Best of luck! (Especially to Travis!!) We've been in the garden today. Don't know if we'll actually get anything or not - the puppies seem to think the plowed ground is the best place to play. Grr.
Later, ya'll!

I could write a book about passing the decades gals!

Thirty was hard on me, then forty and lordy, here came fifty and then sixty and now when I think of my age (66)

I don't feel like I am that old

Oh, bless the Clairol people! When gray comes in then blonde goes on....much easier to disguise then darker hair.
We have been saturated with rain here, too. Watched the Derby and it was soooo exciting to watch that horse come from so far back and thread it's way through and then win by a LOT. One of those stand up and cheer moments.
I find that the best way to disguise wrinkles is to fill them out!! That is my excuse for being overweight!!!!!!!!!!

Well I haven't foamed an the mouth or been trying to kill the cat, but I did chase Billy Idol all over the neighborhood today.

He got out and he wouldn't let me catch him at all. He kept running into the muddy areas.

Finally I got him in and I had mud everywhere.

I have a lady who wants him. I wish she would come. He made me really mad today.

His horns showed today.

I built the bottom of my chicken tractor today for my chicks all by myself.

Felt good! See we don't need the boys!

Yes, and he is currently 5th in the points overall for the year. He is doing remarkably well to have only been in the late model class these past few weeks but he says it's easier to drive than the open wheel from last season plus we have pretty high expectations for him and wouldn't really expect him to do anything but well, poor kid, not allowed to fail!! We set the bar very high for both our kids but they never stopped reaching for it and grabbing it so we would move it ever higher. We have two really good kids, we are very lucky.

Hi everyone.

I finally got to enter the busy mode with the rest of you.

Spring cleaning has officially begun. So much easier to do when it isn't raining. We have a few more days to get it done before it starts to rain again.

Chix, sorry about the puppy.

Hope your arm is doing ok.
Okie, hang in there with your storms.
SE - hope Travis is doing/did great at the races.
Fr. Chuck sounds like spring babies have sprung at your house. We have goslings too, but they are wild Canada Geese.
Karan, good luck finishing up with the greenhouse for its opening!
Em, hang in there! You are a very strong woman!

to all and those whose news I missed.
Enjoy your evenings and hope your weeks open bright and sunny!

I quit with the clairol, I am not bothered by the gray, I earned them actually, lol!! Besides, when you are a brunette over 50, who really is going to BELIEVE your hair is the same color as it was in your 20's???!!! Mine is about half and half I guess, the blondes would have a better time coloring I think, course that blonde and gray combination usually looks pretty good. My husband has red blonde hair and you can't see much of the gray in his at all. Well old ladies...and those that deny they are!!!...and the young ones too..have a great day!!! ....and get those shapes completed and sent if you haven't already..

My dd14 freaks out when she finds one, two... some strands in my hair and picks them out. I have to tell her OK just leave them alone... you kids gave me these gray/white hairs by stressing me out and making me worry!
