Crochet "Chat"

Thanks guys! Lately I don't want to do anything except crochet! :p

I had to take a break from my unicorn so I started a toothless pattern I found online. It's really involved though and it's using black yarn. Who ever came up with crocheting with black yarn anyway?! Lol There are a lot of little pieces to it, but I did finish the body and that looks really good so far.

I also bought a crochet book online called Edwards Menagerie - Birds. It's a bunch of bird patterns and they are so cute! I can't wait to start working on those! There's even a silkie pattern!

I usually have one at a time-I like to limit my WIPs if possible because I know I'll lose interest. I do, however, at this time have three projects going on-a rooster hat, finishing up some decorations for some hats for my dear friend who is going through chemo and I'm working on a chicken afghan design (this has been a few months in the works)...

I'll have to look into that bird crochet book! Sounds RIGHT up my ally! EEK!

If you do a google image search you'll see the other birds you can make. There is a wonderful selection and the patterns don't look too hard. She has nice explanations of the tougher stitches in the back. She is from the UK so you just have to remember a DC there is an sc here.

Oh my gosh, how cute are those! I just peeked at Ravelry as well and I didn't see the bird one entered in anywhere (I love looking at different projects on Ravelry), but the book with animals is adorable too!

ETA: Just found them on Ravelry under Kerry Lord. EEK! LOVE!

I just joined ravelry! I haven't used it much yet but I'm doing a free pattern I got from there.

In the bird book, she has two chickens (a hen and a rooster), a pheasant, duck, turkey, swan, and peacock, plus the silkie! I think there is also a pigeon and dove as well, but I love that she has all types of fowl!

I'm still working on the toothless pattern. It's pretty intricate! It's not terribly complicated but just has a lot of little pieces. It's took me a few hours last night just to do one wing!

Here is my progress so far. There are a bunch of other little pieces not in this picture. I've been putting off the feet because there's a funky back loop thing I have to do for the toes but maybe tonight I can finish it!

Toothless looks great!!

I'm currently working on making a little Pascal (from the movie Tangled) for an accessory for a Rapunzel costume, and so far I'm happy with how it's turning out! I'm a little stumped with how I'm going to do his legs. (I'm making it up as I go.)
