Crochet "Chat"

Making slippers as a thank you gift...
What do you think?

Added a little bling...

Now I'm using fabric paint to make the bottom non-skid. Hopefully it works

Adorable and the bling is perfect

@christine9 , have you noticed any problems w/ the crocheted sole of the slipper? I made a pair years ago but couldn't wear them b/c of pain to my feet from the crocheted soles. I have exceptionally sensitive feet, so not sure if it is a "me" thing or could be a problem for others. I was a kid when I made mine (teen) and didn't know about shoe liners that may have helped.

Actually, my grandmother used to make us slippers when I was young and I definitely didn't like the way they felt. It was almost like there was a seam or something underneath. I really thought these were comfortable. I didn't notice the stitches, maybe because it's just rows of dc. Not to mention I'm 32 weeks pregnant right now, and carrying as much extra weight, and still didn't notice. They maybe worth a shot for you.

Maybe there was. I think they could be made and then stitched up, or you can make them in one piece with drawn stitches at the front. There were probably different methods used and different patterns around and about. They were made with 2 strands of yarn (to keep them from wearing through as quickly and they were done in knit stitch (for traction) so that might have been a bit "tickly" on the inside. If you made the sides deeper, you could put some lambswool insoles in there, that might be nice....

I love them. I always grab some when I find them at craft stalls (unfortunately not that often any more, the older people who would make these things are getting fewer as the years pass).

The old-fashioned ones I have aren't nearly as pretty as those mary-jane style ones. Function over looks with the old ones.

EDIT: I've just woken up, I'm talking about KNITTED slippers, not crocheted ones..... (idiot LOL)

Learned a new stitch...
I'm making a throw for a friend who loves cats and the Vikings. I hope the colors are right. I'm not crazy about them, but I think she will be.
