Crochet "Chat"

Don't sweat it! No pressure!!!! You have to remember the more intricate patterns were probably made by those that have been crocheting for years. There is a definite need for a solid simplistic basic granny square in any swap. I think the basic solid colored squares help tie in the pattern squares to form unity to the afghan.

I learned how to crochet when I was little from my grandma, but she didn't teach me how to read patterns. It wasn't until about 3 or 4 years ago I forced myself to learn the basic pattern so I could participate in my 1st BYC swap. So the first swap I did the basic pattern and then the next swap I learned a new pattern to try. Your kids will do fine!!!! Keep up the great work!

That would be nice! During our food drive Saturday, several of the club members who were sitting with the boxes in the store were crocheting while they took their breaks. Several older Hispanic women stopped to correct them on holding the hook, or the tension, and it turned into a really fun time there for awhile. The kids and the ladies loved it.
