help! I’m getting about 4 buff Orpington and 4 silver laced Wyandotte chicks this this weekend and I need a few name suggestions.

I try and pick a theme for the years chicks, last year it was egg related names for the girls & classic chicken dinner names for the boys

Scramble, French toast
Alfredo, Fricassie

This year it is look like my son is settled on weather theme for the girls
Cloudy, sunny, rain

It's not very creative, but I named my Buff Orpington Honey because she's the color of .. well, you get it.

Since Orps are named for a town in England, you could go with British names for the girls. Think of characters from the Royal family or Downton Abbey. If I had another Orp, I would likely use Bronwyn, which I've always thought sounded both British and distinguished.

I never name my chickens... but I like to name other people's, here are my suggestions

Buffs:
Gilda, Golda, Goldy, and Gertrude

SLWs:
Lacy, Lily, Lucy, and Layloni

We had a Buff named Butterscotch:D I also think it’s fun to pick names within a theme. My theme for my newly hatched duckling was “P names:” Pip, Pongo, Puddles, and Pallas. Best of luck with your flock!
