I have gotten some pretty crazy looks, but a lot of my friends actually think it's cool and get really interested when I tell them about my girls. I take it as a teaching opportunity to break any steriotypes about having pets like chickens and when they come over I can show them about where their food comes from. I think a lot of people think twice about it once they realize that oh yeah, they eat eggs all the time too

Most of my friends and relatives are very interested in my chickens. One of my friends got me into chickens, my sister has chickens, my mom thinks they are great and loves the eggs. of course my husband tells everyone I love the chickens more than him and the kids, lol. But everytime we have friends over, HE is the one taking them out to the coop and run and showing them off, lol.

I get it a little. I now have the nickname "Farmer Girl" at work and when introduced to other people in the company its always mentioned. I think a lot of people view it as a novelty.

Yes, people think I'm crazy esp at the hospital that I work at in the ER. One guy calls me the chicken girl, ummmm I rescue pitbulls from bad situations in bad areas on the weekends but the fact that I have 5 birds that happen to lay eggs (hopefully soon!) is what sticks with him? Fine

I have gotten the "weird looks" from many people but for me alot of the people I know have chickens or have had chickens in the past. So for me its actually the people that I first meet, at school or somthing, that think its' kind of weird. Another thing that I find people think is weird is the fact that I put some of my partridge rocks in chicken shows. They really give me the"you weirdo" look.

Juan, I have been posting my chick pic on FB for a month now. My friends have not made any bad comments, but they all know I march to a different drummer. I also hunt Dead Relatives!
