Do Y'all Eat Livers, Gizzards, and Hearts?

I have a big ole container of them just waiting to be rolled in flour, covered in onions and fried nice and crispy... umm hummm....

I love to fix chicken livers with wrapped bacon as one of the appetizers around the holidays before a nice sit down dinner for guests.......My mother always had to have the cooked gizzard and heart when she would fry up a chicken for Sunday dinner...

I had fried chicken livers this past weekend! DH went to the Outer Banks to surf fish with his dad and brothers...so I wanted something easy to fix for one person.

Pig livers smell terrible when they cook. I give my dogs boiled beef liver pieces for treats. I tried fixing pork liver for them and the dogs wouldn't touch it! That means it's pretty darn bad if the dogs won't eat it.

Thats the way DW likes to fix them. She loves all of that stuff. I can't stand the smell of them cooking even.
I'm not knocking anybody for eating it, I just can't eat it myself.
My grandmother loved fixing up a big batch for the whole family when I was young, on those nights I went to bed hungry.
As for me... Forget it!
I've tried all of the above more than one and I just can't stand them.
I preffer fried rattlesnake meat to chicken livers, when I can get it.

Hi!
I think it is so funny, my Hubby who can't stand to be home on 'chicken-butchering' mornings, LOVES the 'night of' because he gets all the 'innards' --- hearts, livers, and gizzards.
He says "I know my wife really loves me 'cause she saves me the chicken innards". LOL!
I don't serve them fried because of cholesterol issues, but there are loads of other yummy ways to eat them.

I cook liver lightly sautéed in a little butter. Gizzards and hearts I simmer in a little water with onion and maybe a few herbs, until tender.

You ARE making me hungry and I have a tub of chicken livers in the freezer right now. Off to the kitchen for me...
