How do you find their energy levels? Do you think a Boston would be a good fit?
I do think they would be a good fit for you. I've heard many times from other Boston owners that their Bostons (which I think were mostly males) were crazy and energetic. I have not had that experience at all with my two female Bostons. Sure they love to run and play but they also love to sleep a lot. I've had no trouble calming them down. Mine hardly bark unless they are copying other dogs. They seem to learn a lot of their behaviors from other dogs.

Interesting, thank you! How about clingy-ness?

In my experience, they can be slightly clingy, but not in a bad way in my opinion. My current Boston definitely prefers to be within one room over from me but is also fine if I have to leave for a little while. My first Boston was a rescue so she had separation anxiety and was ALWAYS by my side (until she got very sick 😢).

That sounds about the same as a Cavalier. They do REALLY like to be in the same room as you, but if you leave the house, they're like "ok, I guess I'll just sleep"

Ooh! Photos of your Kelpie?
