Just took out numbers 1,6,11 and did a little eggtopsy on them. 1 and 6 were just goo... very gross! Though they did have two little black clumps of stuff in each of them so it's safe to say twins developed but didn’t survive.

11 was the interesting one! While it came out like a block of half solid feta cheese there was one yolk that was still intact, which leads me to think one twin died first and contaminated the other, because it seemed less decaded. Probably a good thing I removed them upon recommendation because the second there was a tiny puncture in the shell goo started coming out immediately.

Sad I had to take them out but I’m super excited for the remaining 5!

That's good- I am so excited can't wait till hatch day! I have the itch to do some incubation myself... It's been a while since I hatched. Last batch we're polish frizzle and Americana chicks- 99%hatch rate -

I thought your profile pic was a polish frizzle!! I’m like obsessed with the frizzle gene, would love to do some research on them too eventually!
If you do end up incubating again would love to see the results!

Following! Ah, the suspense is killing me, lol!

I've only incubated eggs once (my ladies are just now starting to lay) and it was super stressful, so I can't imagine the stress/excitement of all double yolkers!

Thank you for joining our little adventure!!

Yay for your ladies!! I found two chickens once and took care of them for a little while and I remember how happy I was when one of them laid an egg!

And trust me, the suspense is killing me too! Tomorrow is lockdown so I’m freaking out!!

Tomorrow is lockdown day so I thought I’d start setting up the little brooder box I made!

Question for all you lovely duck keepers, what do you recommend for bedding? I’ve read people use puppy pee pads which seems like a good choice? Also bought a few anti-slip bath mats and I thought I’d put those in and sprinkle them with pine shavings but I’ve read mixed reviews on the use of shavings. Thoughts?

Cedar should never be used with birds. Pine is fine and recommended.
Pee pads are good for establishing strong feet in the first few days.
I used paper towels the first day and pine shavings after that with the ducklings I hatched.
