Drakes Eclipse/Nuptial Plumage pics

Is this the male you were having hatching the eggs out with last year? I sure hope not, because he’s beautiful!
Yes, this is Casanova my Drake that I used last year too. Why do you hope it's not him? :idunnoThanks I definitely think he is beautiful too..:frow

I keep forgetting what the difference is between eclipse and nuptial molts. They have to do with breeding season right? I am guessing eclipse is when they molt winter coat and get pretty plumage and then nuptial is molt pretty spring plumage and get winter feathers. Guessing....and then girls will go through same thing but feather change is not noticeable? Anyway...glad this thread is starting back up. I really like it! My male is a pekin so...not much change there :(. Love seeing pics of yalls drakes!

I was thinking one season you had fertility or hatching issues and it would be such a shame if he was infertile is all I meant. Because he is cute as a button and need more babies like him!:clap

I think of nuptial, like a wedding, when they are bright and pretty and breeding.
Eclipse when they molt and get their drab colors.

My dusky grey call drake.
