Also she needs a name!! i never named my ducks or chickens. but seing as how she affects me and how tough she is i beleive she deserves a name. i got her at a day old with all my other chickens and another duck. her nuddy passed away sick this winter and she toughed out everything. she was pecked on really bad at a few months old by chickens, she was dragged by the wing by a friends dog, she got frosbitten feet this winter as it was my first winter with poultry. she got an eye infection this spring and now this! the poor duck never got a break but always thoughed everything out. if she makes it through this she will make it through anything! im very close to her shes by baby. if any of you have ideas shoot them in the comments! heres a photo of when she got pecked at a few months old. She is a LUCKY DUCK - for having so much bad luck. I think LUCKY makes a perfect name. Because regardless of her hardships and trials...she has you and that makes her LUCKY.

Yes, you should defo name her LUCKY, all what she has been through, bless her.
And looking at her wounds, and i know i am keeping on, but the Alginate dressing
will soon help heal them. We have packed larger wounds and ours survived. In case you are concerned of packing it, only a little you will need. Just cover her eyes, and gently
place it with tweezers. Then apply a top dressing, and loosely tie a bandage around to keep it on her. Leave for 2 or even 3 days, as the dressing eats all the dead tissue in wound. And lets new tissue grow. Also sorry to nag, but i know it will help, would not tell
you otherwise, your choice of course. Good luck.

I don't know how long these dressings will take to come in that's my only issue.@cheekychick3 I looked online and the cheapest I could find is around 40canadian that's without tax and shipping....

Giving her lots of water and electrolytes will help if she’s in shock or has lost blood. Rinsing the wound with a saline solution will help with healing and to keep it clean.

Not sure where you live, as i am in UK. But if you google Alginate dressing all links will pop up. Amazon sells them with next day delivery, plus other medical sites. The dressings are for humans, so do not search on vets ect. Honestly they are not expensive at all, and
if you do try it, when you remove the dressing, you will see all the bad stuff clinging to
the dressing. Plus you will be shocked, in how clean the wound has got. Keep doing it
for up to 10 days, maybe less, as you will see for yourself if it needs a few days more.
Eventually new tissue grows, and the wound closes up. It is amazing stuff. It may cost you more for next day delivery but the dressing itself is cheap. If you do buy some, just
cut what you think you will need, yes she will flinch at first, cover her eyes and talk to her.
It will take 2 of you, but crazy thing is, when you take it out, she will not notice, as the
dressing has cleaned the wound, so it is not sore. Keep changing it until you can see a
diffrence. Hope you will try it as it saved ours no end of times.

Only just read this, have you an Amazon, as they sell it, cheap. Just type in Alginate dressing and diffrent brands will pop up. Buy the cheapest, as work the same, only
diffrent brands. Where to do you live.???
