My jaw dropped when i saw those videos lastnight on the news, prayers for all the people that were affected by this

Watching the damage in Santa Cruz now.

Nothing like anyone else's but it's not done and I doubt anyone will know for sure what's going to happen till it's over.

Nothing's going on in San Diego. We're at low tide, anyway. But, WOW to all that went on in Japan. It's amazing that the death toll isn't in the thousands. I hope that California studies what Japan is doing regarding earthquake proofing their buildings and infrastructure.

So scary to see the video of what happened! It just gives me a sick feeling to watch others being hurt/killed in real time, and know that me, watching them through a screen, can do nothing in that moment to help. Flashbacks to watching CNN on 9/11 and watching people jump from the burning buildings...

The "instantness" of news today is both a blessing and a curse.

So many prayers sent this morning...and I'll be looking for a way to help the survivors, although (see BYC Rules if you're wondering

) we can't discuss the specifics of that here.
