Hi all! So I have a 2 year old Lavender Orpington who was displaying all the symptoms of egg binding. I took her to the vet and they did an x-ray that confirmed it. They gave her fluids and a calcium shot. I took her home and gave her an epsom salt bath. I was gently massaging the area and I was able to feel the egg but now when I massage the area it’s just soft. Did the egg just move places? Maybe further into the cloaca? I’m concerned that maybe I cracked it even though I was pressing very gently and i didn’t feel anything break. I’m reluctant to stick my finger in her vent to feel around, but I will if I still can’t feel it in the morning. I’m planning on giving her another soak and crushed up Tums in the morning and calling the vet for further assistance if we don’t see an egg by the 24-hour mark. I’m just worried that her stomach feels soft now instead of hard where the egg is. Any help is greatly appreciated!
