Everything Buff ~Chat

I find my buffs are near the bottom. :( They like to play it cool.
That one in the pick lower or higher?

I can’t tell which one she is in that photo. I call them Big Bird and Little Bird, because Big B was significantly larger than all the other (“same” age) chicks. They used to try to get under her. Now I tell them apart by behavior (and now by Little Bird’s crooked comb from the pecking injury).

Little Bird and DH and I had a moment when she got hurt. We caught her, cleaned her up with cotton balls and peroxide, and put some Vetericin on her tiny wound. She was upset with the peroxide (I think some got in her eye), so I switched to water She calmed down, and began purring. So sweet! She also stayed near me that afternoon, which was new.

A nice moment.

See Little Bird, all the way on the left? Big Bird really was bigger than all the others.

I call my BOs “the Buffys.” Those pix of chicks bring back memories!

I would love to see photos of your lavenders, too, @ValerieJ !
I need to get some current photos. These are from when they were about 8 weeks old. This is Mad Hatter:
