Expectant parent club! Where the pregnant people hang out.

Ok we went to our sonogram today and was kept in suspense till the very end. The tech kept saying she couldn't see much, it was sitting Indian style, she couldn't get a reading for its spine or kidneys so we though we'd have to wait to find out what we are having. But at the last minute the tech smiled and asked if anyone was suspicious of it being a boy. Because she is almost 100% positive that's what it is. I even saw it on the screen, there was no way of doubting that. After the tech announced it, my DH with a big smile on his face said Finally! He was so excited that he called his family right away, only his grandfather answered but he said he could here him yelling "Yes a boy!" It has been a long while in both families that a boy has been born. My girls are a little disappointed they wanted another sister, but I am glad my DH finally gets his little boy. My oldest DD wants to announce it on facebook after school, she is really excited about the baby, even if it is a boy.

Now time to clear out all the girl baby clothes and make room for the boy stuff!
Congrats!!! Always nice to have balance in the home. :)

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'll say I hope favoritism isn't shown toward him just because he's a boy. I grew up with my fathers family favoring boys to the point they couldn't even remember the names of the girls. They disgust me.

We don't do favoritism, but it's funny that my oldest daughter is daddy's girl. She loves working of stuff and getting dirty. While my youngest daughter is a mommy's girl, always clung to my leg and cuddling up to me. I wonder how he will fit in and mesh into this family. And my daughters are slowly warming up to the idea of a brother, my oldest just doesn't want him mashing up her birthday cake (he is due 2 weeks before her birthday) I told her she didn't need to worry about that, LOL. That made her day.

Fun thread! i am pregnant right now so i figured i would join in. unfortunately my story starts off sad- me and my husband lost our first baby at 33 weeks into the pregnancy, so this isn't my first pregnancy, but it will be the first baby that we bring home. I am actually currently 33 weeks pregnant again and we are doing lots and lots of checkups I go in once every monday for an non-stress test and a checkup and once every thursday for an ultrasound- so far everything is looking good. the due date is 4/11/13 and it is a baby girl. we are very excited :)

Hello!
I'm expecting our first child, due July 13th. We know the sex, but we're keeping it to ourselves for now. It's my first pregnancy, so everything is new and different and slightly bizarre. :D

Welcome! The first time is always Interesting. Try not to stress too much and if you have questions or need advise you are in the right place!

I have an ultrasound tomorrow. I am 30 weeks and the doc said the placenta was a bit low at the 20 week ultrasound so he wants to be sure it is out of the way. He said 90% of the time they move out of the way by now. I sure hope it is, I want to avoid a C-Section if at all possible. Also, I have been getting Braxton Hicks for a week now. Irritating, to say the least.

How is everyone else doing?

Hi ChaeBird and welcome!

I am officially halfway today!! We have been busy going through old baby clothes, toys, and anything in the house that just doesn't have a place to make room for this little one. We have a first name picked out, now just waiting on DH to pick a middle name, he has a list of about eight names on it, but I think he is struggling between two mostly. I don't think if he is sure about sticking with a family name or picking something a little different. I just wish he would pick one so we can tell everyone our little one to be's name!
Other then that I have been picked for jury duty for the end of next month, so not looking forward to it, but no way out of it either

I haven't been on in a bit so I figured I'd stop by.

I passed my 3 hour glucose test after failing the first luckily. I'll be 31 weeks along on Friday. I've gained all 30lbs. my doctor wanted me to gain already. I'm worrying that he will be a big baby since both of my husband's sides have large babies. Found out my sister was an 8lb baby too. Within the last few days I developed cankles. My feet don't feel comfortable in shoes and I can feel them jiggle when I walk. My mom said she went bare foot to the hospital for me cause she couldn't get shoes on.

We think we finally decided to go with Archer for a first name. Now is the problem of picking a middle name. We were thinking of William (both grandfathers) but my mom and sister want me to use the mn Steel W. since they liked Steel for a mn so much. They said the W. would stand for William and keep us from having the initial problem since our last name starts with an S. I actually like Steel quite a bit but my husband thinks it would be to long to write out even though it is the same as William. He is the one that came up with Steel for a mn before we found out I was pregnant.

I've been stocking up on the last random baby and postnatal items. With how fast my pregnancy symptoms are kicking in I figured now is the time to get most of the stuff before I won't want to leave the house.

I did buy more fabric and made my first car seat canopy that is Batman themed. I decided to make the straps for the handle velcro on and off the canopy part. I figured that would allow me to use it as a blanket also especially if I don't have one around. Only problem I had is the fabric is a bit heavy for the velcro but I'll just buy some buttons to use with the velcro to fix that problem. Already realized after I sewed the top and bottom fabric pieces together that the print is shorter from top to bottom and I worried I would have to make it side ways. Luckily it was just long enough to work even though now it is a bit big sideways and hangs down a little to far but I'll live with it. First one I made and I've only used the sewing machine a few times.

Congrats to all the new members in this thread that are expecting. Hope all your pregnancies and deliveries go well.

Hectic days! My ultrasound went well, my placenta moved out of the way so YAY! The tech tried to get us some good pics but little guy was curled up in a ball with his arms over his face. She did re-verify we have a boy on our hands though.

I have 21 eggs in the bator with hatching in progress and DH is LLCing another family business for us. The Storage locker thing is working out better than last year so he figured it was time.

Well I'm miserable. The pressure of carrying my baby so low is bursting the veins in my legs. My left leg is completely black from the knee down. Totally nothing to worry about according to the Dr. EXCEPT it could be PERMANENT. Add to that I'm 7 months and still throwing up. :( Plus this little girl is a lot stronger and more mobile than our son was. She literally hurts me when she moves around which she does all the time. Also, my vision has been degrading the entire pregnancy. I have to wear contacts and reading glasses but I'm still getting horrid head aches from my wavy vision. Basically I'm so over being pregnant. Thankfully we are having a girl so we've got one of each now and I can call us done. My hubby still wants to have 4 more but after this..... over my dead body!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
