Expectant parent club! Where the pregnant people hang out.

Have her try the SeaBands - they help a lot for many women. They put pressure on an accupressure point on your wrist and help reduce sickness a fair bit.

I know I always needed to have some food in my stomach when I was pregnant with my daughter (very, very sick). I would eat saltines before getting out of bed, and keep some with me all day, so I could munch on them as needed. Any kind of simple carbs helped too (like bread sticks and ranch dressing

).

Ginger ale made with real ginger was helpful, and I've heard people say that candied ginger worked well for them. They also make "preggie pops" which have ginger in them although I liked their hard candies better than the lollipops.

Lemonade or water with lemon...

As a last resort, she can always go to her doctor and get a prescription for Zofran. I never did that because I'm paranoid

I study in the field of reproduction and developmental biology so I know FAR too well all the side effects of drugs which were deemed "safe" for pregnant women. Like DES and thalidomide... I won't take ANYTHING if I don't absolutely have to, not caffeine - nothing! Absolutely paranoid

ETA - I do think that Zofran is completely safe - I'm just paranoid

Only thing I know of is sour candies like Lemon Heads, SweetTarts, Sour Patch Kids..... Anything sour usually helps.

She is really grossed out by sour right now, but I did get her life savers and those seem to help mildly.

Good luck - I hope you find them! I found them at our grocery store in the pharmacy aisle. They were hard to spot, so I had to ask for help though.

Hope you start feeling better soon! The flu is NO fun!

I'm thinking the shower won't be until May or so just in case....and also so my sisters and mom can come up from Portland.

When is the average time for showers anyway?

Mine is April 16th exactly 4 weeks before my Due date, I thought that was too close, but I googled it, and apparently that is normal timing.

Only thing that helped me somewhat was to have a granola bar next to my bed that I forced down like 30 minutes before getting up, Doc said it was a blood sugar thing, and that snacking in the middle of the night or before getting up would help. And It did kinda, but making myself eat it was hard...

Oh that is the worst feeling, I had it bad with the twins, something that really helped me was ginger root extract I was able to find it or get them to order it at Walgreens or CVS. But real ginger ale and even straight ginger may help.

I did get a prescription for (Zofran) but I couldn't take them very often because they made me extremely sleepy. I had it worse in the mornings, so I always had to keep something for me to eat right away, just something, whatever she could stomach, some of my faves were crackers, toast, granola bars, yogurt, fruit. Hope she feels better soon.
