Expectant parent club! Where the pregnant people hang out.

Hi everyone! Just wanted to share my update! 11/3/11 I started labor again (after many false labors) and went to L&D. I was dilated to a 3.5 for 2 weeks and still was when I got in. My water broke so they admitted me and started me on Pictocin the next am. After 20 hours in labor and not much progression they decided I needed a C-section due to my water bag breaking over 20 hours ago and risk of infection.

So at 6:31 PM on 11/4/11 after 20 hours of labor Jason Samuel Jonik was born via c-section! He scored a 9/9 on his apgars and is doing great! He was 8lbs 4oz, and 20 inches long. I am soooo glad he is finally here! I had to stay a while in the hospital because I had a lot of complications/bad reactions to the anesthesia so recovery has been a mess, but soooooo worth it!

What a day today has been... it seems that all Lylah has done today is cry

It's awful. I know I'm probably over exaggerating because I'm exhausted and I hate that she's been so upset - but it seems as if she isn't sleeping or eating, she's crying. So I let her have quite a bit more sleep today than I should have. And now I'll be up all night with her because she's going to have stocked up all day on her sleep, but she obviously needs it

Ugh. I needed to vent... and whine, apparently...

The other "new baby" thread is so dead... so new mommies... any awesome schedule suggestions that are working for you? I thought ours was pretty good... but I think little miss grumpy has other ideas about it

I know we're still in the "rough patch," but gracious I hate that she's so upset today.

I wish Ihad advice for you, but Luke is just a good sleeper, and he always has been... My only issue is that he likes to go to bed early so he's up for the day at like 5am, or sometimes 4am. We have gotten good at keeping him up later though, so he will sleep until 5-5:30 am. Except this morning he slept until 6:45. But he went from needing two bottles a night to one a night now, and he really only wakes up because his pacifier fell out, so I pop it back in, and he sleeps until about 2 am when he wants a bottle, then he goes right back to sleep. Oh another issues is that he is almost 6 months old and still will only sleep if he's swaddled!

Will she take a pacifier? That could help.

Gracious, I'm quite a ways behind you - I can't believe he is already six months old!

She will take a pacifier if she is upset or sleepy, but if she's too upset it's out. She tolerates the swing for a little while if she's napping, but she doesn't care to sleep there any longer than that. Which I guess I don't mind, I don't want her to get too used to sleeping in it and not sleep well in her crib or bassinet.. She can go down anywhere from 8pm to 10pm and will still want to start her day at 3am or 4am

And that's with keeping her up as much as I can during the day. And I wonder why I feel like I'm running on fumes. But she will be two weeks tomorrow... hopefully she will get into the groove of things, soon!
