Expectant parent club! Where the pregnant people hang out.

Went for my 12 week ultrasound (NT scan) today. Everything looked normal and they're 95% sure it's a GIRL!!!!!

I've been calling her a "she" the whole time anyways since this pregnancy has been so much different than the last, but I'm glad to have it (mostly) confirmed. I'm going back in 2 weeks just to be sure, so will be *trying* to refrain from buying pink until then!

CONGRATS, Kelly!! When I was preggo with my DD I only got something like 85% sure so I was afraid to do any pink in her room and stuck with neutrals. She has a pink room now though! I'll bet you've got a little hamburger bun in there!!

Hey ladies! Congrats KellyHM on finding out it's a girl!

Have an appointment this week. I'm hoping my midwife will check me. I've been very crampy and mildly contracting this past week. I have always been dilated and effaced at my 36 week check up, so we will see if this pregnancy is any different. Not too much farther to go! Delivered DD#1 at 37w2d and DD#2 at 38 weeks (water broke each time at home). My midwives think it'll be the same story for this little one. We'll see what he has in store for me and if they are right! : )

krote - my feet have been swollen, too! This is the first pregnancy that I've experienced it. I did a big no-no, which started it. I accidentally fell asleep on the couch -- setting upright with my feet on the floor. Don't aske me how I stayed sleeping like that for 4-5 hours!!! I woke up and my feet and ankles were swollen. They did go down after keeping them up the next day and have been pretty good. Occasionally, it has flared up in the evenings since then. Cankles do look lovely, don't they? : )

I have an appointment today too and I assume my midwife will check me as well. FIngers crossed for some sort of dilation for both of us! After the swelling started and a few other unmentionable attractive late pregnancy symptoms appeared, I've decided I am ready to have this silly baby!

I've washed all of the clothes, blankets, diapers and things and have taken an inventory of what we still need after the shower. Somehow, we ended up without a single baby sock!!!! How does this happen? I got things that I didn't even know existed for babies and about 30 bibs, but nary a sock or even pants for that matter! PJ's were scarce too so I got headed to Khol's online and hit up their clearance section. I figured I would buy a bunch of things we didn't need if I actually went into a store shopping. I got 7 pairs of pants, 12 pairs of socks and 5 one piece PJ sets and free shipping for $79.46

krcote, I can't believe you're almost having your baby already! I remember when you announced your pregnancy, and it just doesn't seem that long ago! lol

I have a question for all the experienced cloth diaperers out there;

I'm planning on using the "thirsties" diaper covers (called duo wraps) but instead of using just a liner, I was planning on using a regular full cloth diaper (by oso cozy, their indian cotton style). Is that ok, will it fit? Do I just use the regular sized diapers folded in thirds as a liner? I'm coming from no experience here, just started looking into cloth diapering a month ago. Nobody I know has cloth diapered since the 70s, so they're not up to speed on whats available today.

Also, what homemade recipes do you use for wetting cloth wipes?

I use the thirsties Duo covers over green mountain diaper prefolds that are Snappied on. I bought some of their Duo diapers but they aren't tight enough in the legs for the quantity of urine my 13 month old releases at once. She floods out of them. But with a snappied prefold the covers work great.
