SHE'S BACK!!! 
Went outside to go put everyone to bed and Taiyo was completely transfixed with something at the bottom of the driveway. I had to squint because I wasn't wearing my glasses (rarely do, even though I should) and saw a bird of some sort. Kinda looked turkey-ish but as I got closer, I could tell it was a chicken. A Dark Brahma chicken!
Of course, she wouldn't let me catch her and headed into the cedars.
Managed to 'corner' her and grab her. She squawked (dammit that was a hard word to spell!) and fussed but settled fast. She was very happy to be back with her family, and happier to get some food!
Also figured out which one the dog partially plucked. One of the three is off-colour, with a white chest. It was raining today and she was wet and I could see where all the feathers were missing around her tail because of it. Could barely tell when she was dry! I'd assumed it was the missing one who'd lost all those feathers. Brahmas are fluffy!!!
Oh, and the plucked one was also the first to return thus another reason I didn't think it was her.
All are nice and secure for the night.

Cleaned out the duck coops. It's a nice sunny but mild day with a high of 21c. We've had rain the last 2-3 days so everything was soaked through.
Get 'paid' tomorrow, so will be able to get extra bedding for them. Winter is coming sooner than later after all.
The new cochin banties are laying! So far, no fertile ones but I wouldn't be hatching yet anyhow. Debating keeping them inside for the winter although the crowing would be too annoying. I'd like to have chicks ready to go (feathered so they can be outside) for early May, or even late April.
Feather plucker will be here for the weekend of the 19th Oct. Wish it was earlier! WAY past the time these cockerels should be processed. Tempted to do the white Chantecler now as he has a severely deformed leg that just seems to float in it's socket! Sometimes his foot points BACKWARDS! He's from those eggs I got at auction that only 2:12 hatched. Thankfully the little hen seems fine.
The Chantecler are much smaller than I thought they would be. Especially the hens. They look more like bantams than full-sized chickens. Maybe next year I'll get Partridge ones to add bloodlines, but hopefully won't end up with 5:6 males again! I think these birds are too inbred. Many of them have crooked toes and one even has a non-standard comb (of course he's the friendliest one and it will be difficult for me to process him)! I'll only be keeping one of the cockerels, the biggest with the best conformation.
The OEGB are looking good. Not as much colour in the Red Pyle as I'd expect yet, but they're still young. The Lemon Blue cockerel is magnificent! I'll try to get a picture of him later.
Little Rudy seems to have gotten coccidosis <sp>, probably from the chicks I picked up at the livestock sale. That's always the problem, the strains can be different depending on the area, even from your neighbour! She's still eating and drinking, just has some motor issues / muscle spasms from time to time, but I think she'll be okay and beat it.

Good stance pic of the Lemon Blue OEGB boy.
The blue girl has lovely edging. The splash one has good conformation and at least will give blue babies, but also splash. If I get a black cockerel out of the blue girl I may pair it up with the splash for all blue babies.

My male unfortunately doesn't have a proper pea comb, but I hope the girls will make up for that. Hope I don't have to sell him, he is a sweetheart.
