First hatch of the year.

I candled tonight. It is either day 8 or 9 (will have to check). ! modern game bantam egg looks to be developing on track. 1 white rock egg, never started developing. And the other 5 are so-so. Since m incubators temp was down, I think they are a little behind track. They looks to be developing slower. Then will probably end up being duds.

Ok so I just got 30 silkie eggs in the mail Saturday. Rested them 24 hours. Put them in the incubator Sunday.i decided to candle a couple to check for cracks and floating air cells. Sure enough most of them have an air cell that drifts back and forth when you tilt the egg. This is only my second hatch so I'm not sure what to do. My first hatch I did last month I incubated the eggs laying down. What I'm wondering is if I should incubate with the carton method and maybe stop turning for the next 24-48 hours to give the air cells a chance to reattach but keep them in the incubator?
Some immediate advice would be greatly appreciated! !

Not sure if its too late to reply to this, but yes, that would be my recommendation. Carton and sit for 2-3 days.

Cold weather lowered my house temp significantly, and the eggs got down to 97 degrees for several hours. I'm really hoping that they still hatch, but being small silkie eggs, and my first hatch, I'm a bit concerned. Stupid polar vortex.

The room I have my incubator is poorly insulated. Temp dropped and so did the incubators temp. I think your eggs will be fine. Mine dropped to 80
