Muscovy that is a good way of getting the flies under control. And second option is fly traps. You can buy them at most farm stores you put water in and then this powder which is the fly attractant last about a month and usually has tons of flies when you dump and start over. These are for outside the coop inside best to just keep the poop cleaned out and maybe use something like barn limes or sweet PDZ in the bedding some use those sticky fly traps you hang up high so nothing can get caught on them But flies, I had a bantam chicken caught on one once so I don't use them inside any longer.

Hard to say on the voice they sure don't look sick though.

@Miss Lydia Thank you! I’ll check out the fly traps. I have some PDZ but I think part of this issue is also water + too little bedding material. Our farm store has limited hours and I haven’t been able to make it out there.

Any suggestions on how to get them used to the new waterer and feeder I go them (which are supposed to contain the mess)? Right now they think they’re the boogie man!

As long as they don’t look or sound sick, I don’t care what gender they are! Just crossing my fingers for healthy happy duckos!

Thanks again for all of your continued advice and support!

:love

They will get use to it just give them time. Seems I am changing things her quite often moving feed bowls water buckets to try and improve. They are so use to it they just go with the flow yours will too. You don't have to have food and water inside once they are 5 weeks or older.

I use deep litter too the shavings soak up a lot of the liquid and all I have to do is go in daily scoop out the wet, fluff bedding and add fresh as needed usually every 2 weeks and in 3 houses I have 39 birds. I'd never not use deep litter.

@Miss Lydia How deep is your litter? I feel like I’ve read 6-8 inches is ideal? I think I have too little so it just gets over saturated when they play around in the water bucket.

Good to know about food and water not needing to be inside now that they’re older. I’m sure that will help a ton once I move it into the run.

Everything is a learning experience at this point!
