A 4th of July update - Thank goodness for the day off, we made so much progress today!

Still quite a bit to do, but we’re past the hardest parts, I think.

Thanks @Knighstar679 - The roof is a PV version of the corrugated metal we planned to reuse from the shed. We had purchased end pieces to fill the gaps that the curve of the material makes but it didn’t fit the metal! Since we’ve heard that the metal can sweat and drip from weather, we just bought a few sheets of the PV and called it a day. We’ll see how it works!

Holy moly, I did not expect the flies to be this bad! What do you do in the summer to combat/prevent all of these nasty flies?



Also, Big/Huey’s voice has changed dramatically in the last week ... not sure if it has to do with the coop or his(?) age. Posting a video ... Is this the raspy voice they talk about boys having? Or is there a respiratory issue?

I’m still a little traumatized from losing the second Big this Spring.
