Checked on the flock after church. Esther still has the open sore, it didn't appear obviously worse. However, another pullet, Prissy, has a similar open sore in the same location. As suggested by someone here, I think it may be rooster related. Joanna looks fine, and I didn't notice any wounds on the other hens, including Tamar. She's bottom of the pecking order so I would think a hen related issue would involve her.

I'll treat both their wounds after dark.

Treated both Esther and Prissy after dark. Prissy was especially offended. Oh, and the open sore looked bigger on Esther.

I took hot water to the coop so they'd have fresh water to drink, fed them a couple crumbled corn tortilla shells that were way out of date. They liked those!

Interactions looked normal, didn't see more than a brief peck by the older hens.

@fuzzi @lightm @NanaK (am I forgetting any NC people?!!) are Ya'll getting any snow/ice yet? Looking at the radar, it looks like the E Coast is going to have some snow/ice. Snow on the Beach!!

It was cold this morning (those of you in the U.P. just close your eyes and shake your head). Won't warm up but to around 22 or so today. Tonight is supposed to be the colds, then warming a bit.

We were puffed this morning LOL It was a bit windy too.

I had 1 bale of straw left so decided to break it open. This gets everyone busy.
