Has anybody tried soaking their seeds before planting? I just heard about this and am about to give it a shot!

What does soaking your seeds do

They will germinate faster. Your germination rate will also be higher because every seed is "watered".
Simple test to prove it. Soak 4 squash seeds. Plant. Plant another hill with 4 seeds. Which hill sprouts first?

I'm doing this right now with pumpkins, melons, and cantaloupe! If it works, I'm sold!

I just planted a mix of pumpkins (Big Max and Jack O'Lantern), watermelons (Blacktail Mountain and Sugar Baby), and cantaloupe (Iroquois)! There are 68 total, and as said before, I'm experimenting with soaking. Wish me luck!

I have my food truck at a fall festival. They grow over 70 different pumpkins and gourds. Needless to say that I don't need to grow any. I'll have to save seeds and do a seed exchange. There will be cross pollination so might be some funky crosses.

Getting kind of frustrated - I'm having so many issues with my tomato starts this year and I'm starting to wonder if it's like a 'seed' thing. My only tomatoes without any issues all came from Baker Creek, everything else is turning bright green and getting super crispy. Everything is watered and I'm using fish emulsion to lightly fertilize...it's driving me nuts that like out of 100 plants most of them are damaged

Clearing out a lot of area today so I can plant my pumpkins. Will be my first time with this plant so we will see how it goes
