    vent gleet..i have one like that..i soak her sometimes in epson salt..that cleans her vent but it always comes back

    Is that just poop stuck or is it an illness ? try trimming some of the feathers away?

    mornin i think its an illness..watery poop swollen vent..i have trimmed the feathers off still looks nasty

    There have been several times I thought my Dad was with me when something was just not right in my life.

    Sometimes when I am in my chicken coop, I feel like my Grandmother's spirit is there. . .

    I had to chuckle over the fact that someone actually reads what I post! My chickens have enjoyed squirrel, raccoon and possum!

    Vent gleet is a yeast infection. I have heart people feeding pieces of Monostat suppository to cure it. I fed yogurt, worked fine. I bathed her too, such a mess. Was worried about fly strike.

    My vet says as long as all wildlife is cooked thoroughly any and all germs or diseases are killed. I have been doing it for YEARS.

    With this new shift at work, I can't keep up wit you guys! I have to get up at 3am and am in bed by 7pm or so. I have to read until I find something to comment on I have to write down the post number so I don't get lost. .
