I was my own voice of reason yesterday!
We had first choice on a young peacock. Husband asked what I thought, and I said no. We absolutely don't have any room for it. We barely have room for what we have.
He's pushing to sell some pullets, but I'm not ready. They're five months old yesterday, so I really just need them to start laying so he can remember how nice it is to have lots of eggs. We sold the laying flock and only have six hens now, and only two aren't sussex. Every time we eat a sussex egg that's basically $1.25 we're losing. So keeping the mixed breed hens would be smart, so then we can actually have food.
