Aww wishing he was so cute, bet he's a handsome teenager now.

Thanks Lisa. Surprisingly, his looks haven't changed all that much. Lot taller, a little hairier, but you'd be able to recognize him easily! It's the voice change that gets me. When my older son's voice got deeper, I just about had a heart attack one day because I thought a strange man was in the house talking to my younger boy!

Thank you, granny.  He was such a sweet little boy.  Now he's a teenager.  We all know how they are! 


Used to be a LOT of kids trick or treating in our neighborhood.  Not so much anymore.  We are in a little area of about 40 houses that is outside city limits, no sidewalks or streetlights.  The neighborhood was full of kids and many of the vineyard workers would bring their kids over too.  Would be a constant stream of candy grubbers for a few hours.  Year before last, we didn't get a single little goblin.  Last year I didn't even put the light on.  We are on the outskirts of the neighborhood, and not many venture down our way, but apparently there wasn't any one.  Hey, more candy for me! 

Awww   We live on a dead end dirt road. I used to enjoy making goodie bags for all the neighbor kids. They're all up and grown now with kids of their own.  I miss giving out candy when we lived in town. DH every year, and again today buys candy, "just in case" 

Mutt my dh does the same thing. We haven't had trick or treater's since our children were young. We are out in the country & all the kids go into towns to trick or treat.

my older dog would have been 16..she had a stroke dec 6th last year..i had to have her put to sleep hardest thing i've ever done .. dh and i cried for weeks..like losing one of your children..

It is so very hard, yet the right thing to do.

@Mutt Farm absolutely sickening how disposable they are to some people, this is why I seek or senior animals or other whose less adoptable ones.

@granny hatchet Ya gotta go early and hit the less obvious places. ..cvs is my first stop to stock up for the candy dish at work on the cheap. ...day after Halloween, valentine's and Easter

Isn't it hard to see them grow up. I wish I wouldn't have gotten caught up in the moment raising my kids because just in a blink of an eye they were grown. My baby turns 29 this coming Feb.

Rite Aid stores are good for the day after sales of candy too.

I'm funny about that, maybe because I am an older mom, but I love seeing them grow up. Every new thing they can do by themselves is so gratifying- walking, using the toilet, brushing their teeth, bathing without help. Love it! I only had baby pangs once when the younger got his first haircut at 15 months. My MIL was so MAD about that. Thank heavens it was my hubs that did the cutting!

Now we're working driving for the older boy. I think I will be more thrilled than he when he gets that license!

But it is wonderful to look back at the pictures! We lost all of the younger's baby pics when our computer went haywire. I cried for a month.
