Light brahmas and white marans sound great. They'll look good next to your Speckeled Sussex.

BEWARE the d'Uccle cockerel. Male d'Uccles have a terrible reputation for aggression toward people. Most don't worry because they're so small and can't cause much damage, but consider the possibility. If she has a friendly rooster, maybe he passed his good temperament to his offspring. Hard to believe something so cute can be so mean. Just a friendly warning.

Hey thanks! That never even crossed my mind. Her birds are nice looking and healthy but in breed pens and probably aren't handled much. I won't risk putting him in the camp flock because they are handled several time a day by kids. See? I knew I didn't need him. :D
 
I am ready to run away from home !!! first the fly thing and now this ! sitting in my easy chair. havent had a chance to do that in a long while. kids have been sleeping in here. brooder cage all cleaned out is on the shelf. what do i hear ? sounds like a baby chick. I know its not. cat knows its not. Im not going over there !!

Bet he doesn't think of himself as the baby either. My sil married a man 20 yrs her senior when she was 23. They had a very good marriage, 40+ years.
 
omg, I have been talking about my son-in-law so much lately that when i read your post........face book getting to me. hahaa we have had a good marrige. it has been more of a best friend thing though. 20 yrs. so far.. I tell him all the time that is too da.. long to be with any one man.
