I just asked my husband about using the Tylan from 2012, and he said he would use it. We were both military military medical people once years ago when the military couldn't even supply their hospitals properly, and using expired anything was common. We both have been guilty of needing a medication, and finding a 3 year expired bottle in our stash, and using it LOL. I have worked with many foreign doctors from very poor countries who would gather up expired medicines and supplies, and take them home for people to use, every year on vacations back to their home countries. Susierd, you have been such a great friend to Granny along with many others. Granny, lots of times chickens can suffer from secondary infections after getting the first one. One chicken can have infectious bronchitis, then get MG or coryza, and then get E.coli. Coccidiosis, also can cause decreased immunity to start with, then all of these others can pile on. I am envious of Californians and others who can get free necropsies, because most people can't afford to find out what they have. Fortunately, I haven't had any major illnesses in my flock so far, but there are people we can call for advice--our state vet's office or Dept. of Agriculture here: http://www.aphis.usda.gov/animal_health/animal_dis_spec/poultry/participants.shtml and the USDA vets @ 1-866-536-7593.

Suzierd, we were thinking alike, LOL.

Thank you Eggcessive! You always have great advise and I'm so glad your helping Granny. I have grown pretty fond of her and with everything else going on she needs healthy chickens to enjoy. I would be happy to send the Tylan so Granny if you can cancel that order do it! I'll get my Tylan on its way! And as soon as you can get the neocropsy done you can see if you should order the Denagard. My gut is telling me your dealing with MG.

god love you both

eggsessive, i dont understand that site at all. i have looked at it before, i remember it. but as far as help, i dont see it or i am looking in the wrong place. suzeird, thank you for your help too, i have already sent the check to mi. where my nephew lives and they took it out of his money so i dont want to cancel it. i do like the idea of the denagard . i guess i will treat with the tylan and order some denagard. i cant find the right place for a necropsy. one of the dogs has been adopted already, it cant go to its new home though until its vetted. its the old dog and she is going to an older woman that lost hers. so maybe they will both feel right with each other. i dont know why you guys help me , i am a pain, but i do thank you soo much. whether its mg or crd the treatment is the same right? its not corzo, no smell and i did the corrid, wormer, sulfa, ivermectin. and like i said, the tylan was helping i just shouldnt of gave shots to the babies. this is all i got left in me guys. if i cant get an necropsy and the meds dont work, i am going to be forced to cull every one of them. i dont think it will come to that though. sorry i left you hanging earlier.your words made me cry and i needed it.

Granny, each state is different, but you need to click on your state for the right contact number to call. Below is the person to contact--just ask about how to get a necropsy done. And try the USDA number for questions about diseases--that is what they are there for (probably best Mon-Fri.)

Looking forward to hearing your flock is healthy again. You've been thru enough you don't need the added stress of sick chickens. Best wishes to you.
