Girls are enjoying some freedom while I poopy scoop. ...takes so much longer than it did with my old house and it's tiny yard lol. Just got two pastures left! Stopped for a water break (and to get the girls some "spa water" (ice water in a ziplock sandwich container...though I did put some mint in it for extra greenery this time....)

Currently 84 (so the girls don't *need* the spa water) but the sun feels hot.

Noticed the buff polish cockerel chest bumping the other boys and jumping on backs/pulling crest feathers of pullets and roos alike. That was this morning. Just now I got a guy to help me move the tractor, because it was bogged down. The juvies were in the bottom, and the buff polish cockerel got his leg stuck somehow. Pulled a layer of skin off. No blood, and he seems to be putting weight in it alright. I'll catch him later and put some blu-kote on it. We're going to finish moving it when they roost.

problem is, he has the short leg gene making him about 6in. tall and the pond is 8. all he can do is stretch his neck to keep his nose out of the water. He does seem to hang with her though. she is probably the only one that dont chase him. My grandson is washing his own mouth out with soap. Hahahaaaa what a dingelberry.

Now the next one is doing it ! I cant breath 3rd one down!!! need new punishment.

Oh man.

Hubs just texted me. "Oh Napa is hiring for a driver!"

Now, let's not discuss the difficulties I'd have with this since I still have an Alberta, not Californian license. (Granted I have my test next week to get the Cali license)

It'll be a pain for me to get my drivers abstract from Alberta...and take a good long time. Hopefully not as long as my tax refund (seriously processing time of 16 weeks?!?!) but still. A while.

Thirdly...I know what'll happen if I work at any kind of automotive place. It'll be "oh I need this for the car I need that for the truck can you get this that and the other" and by the end of the day, I will OWE THEM money.

Nope. Think I'll stick at Kmart.

sounds about right. you will be turned into a gopher. go for this, bring me that. LOL !! been there myself. I used to be a tool girl, "he" was gonna work on the car but i did all the fetching. then the clean up, then cooking because "I" didnt do the work. No more and never again. edited to add, that is how i spelled divorce. Its the little things that count right ?

Haha well I already do all the cooking and domestics.

But i mean...I don't really relish the idea of driving about SoCal...there's a lot of silly drivers out there. As is I get some pretty entertaining road rage (one of these days I've been told I just need to record myself driving - I'm not scary or overly crazy, I just cuss creatively in my car where the offending driver can't hear me)

(Edit) though as is I'm hoping I can get some sort of employee discount for Kmart/Sears/etc. there's some things for the house that'd be awesome to get...one of which would be a honkin toolbox so my house tools stop mysteriously disappearing...a new couch has been discussed...new mattress will need to be had in the near future...so selfishly I'm holding out for that! (Oh and maybe new shelves for the garage for my sewing stuff.)
