Its been my experience here that brackets come off the teeth pretty easy as well. Gd has swallowed many of them. If one does come off, try to save it. The Ortho can reuse it here. Saves some money if they are going thru lots of silver brackets.

She said they might and to watch what he eats. Charlie would be having a trauma if he swallowed one, panic stricken I tell you!! She said if they do to save as she could reuse it. Kids get free dental over here untill they are 16 or 18 if they stay in full time education. But if brackets come off regular they would reassess treatment and could withdraw it or you would have to start paying private rates that are extortionate
oh no, he better watch what he eats then. Stay away from the popcorn, apples chewy candy & carrots for sure

He's been good and is watching what he eats, better than I thought he would!!

Nearly 10pm here for me so I will bid you all a good night. Riding in the morning so need to be up early and ready to go!

:hugs To all those needing them right now.

They will admit him under another Dr. If I have ANYTHING to do with it he will not see this Dr Russel again.
Good for you. Make sure you do say something, and loudly. Take no prisoners! I would hate to be really sick without some there to look out for me. Without you, Mike is just another patient. He's very lucky to have you.

Quote: The internet has lovely disgusting pictures of rotting teeth if Charlie needs any more persuasion to brush well. Our orthodontist gave my son an electric toothbrush (private pay over here!) and I think it helped a lot to keep his teeth clean. Braces off a week ago, after 3 years, and is teeth look beautiful. Both ortho and dentist said he did a really good job keeping them clean.

Well, Mike woke up, dizzy, lethargic, disoriented, couldn't breathe....
So we are at the hospital again. The EMS was shocked that he was at the Dr Thursday with sugar over 400 and she didn't either put him on insulin or admit him....... She told me he should have been admitted because of his swelling legs, feet and hands, if nothing else.

I will keep you posted!

I don't even know what to say - I will be thinking of you both!!!

Kathy - sometimes I think knowing that the time is drawing near is a blessing -- I know when we made that realization with my old man, Hugger, this last winter/spring it was a blessing for me to be able to take those last days and weeks and just focus on making every moment count. In a perfect world we could/would live every day like that without having to have the finality hanging over our heads to remind us to do so, but I am so glad that I had that time with him. No matter whether the decision has to come in the next few days or if you are blessed with more time than that, just make the most of the time you have. While it can seem kinder in the short run for the loss to come unexpectedly, I think sometimes we lose something from that. So many

to you and to kitty.

DD just sent me a picture of the grandkids. They are headed off to a Halloween church party since the weather is horrible here. Sure miss these little rascals. Big Sissy is so nice to help with her brothers.

So cute. They all match! Don't you just want to give that little froggy monster a smushy hug?
