We are researching dogs right now. I want another Pit but since are family line has left we are trying to figure out a smart dog that can be trained to be around other animal... especially chickens... Pits are super smart and we have had them forever.. but getting one from an unknown source is kinda dangerous.. how are spaniels when it comes to training??? this question goes out to anyone.

Good morning everyone.
Linda, I would not suggest a hunting as a dog to keep around her. Especially a puppy.
Border collies or other herding dogs need to have a job. They need to expend a lot of energy, a lot. If they are not completely wore out by the end of the day they have all sorts of issues. Remember too, one of their herding instinct is to bite or nip at what they are trying to herd.

Mornings, Its snowing . ground is covered already . I heard 2-4 on the radio yesterday but not knowing if thats correct for here or not. No going out in this mess. So no ivermectin for the roo. Not so sure I should waste the money anyway.
