Great signs to put at the end of your driveway

There's this one ...

of course it only works if your name is Doug.

Very true. It also bothers me when you tell them that you have found Christ, believe firmly in him, and you ask them to leave, and they don't go because whatever I believe is not as good as what THEY believe. Maybe I should post a sign that says:

"If you wish to take up issue with my beliefs, meet me at church Sunday morning and take it up with my minister." With a sign pointing down the street to my church. Maybe then they'll leave me alone! I couldn't believe it when we first moved out here to the country. Here we are, lost in the middle of the cornfields and the Jehovah's STILL found us!!!! Do I have radar on or something???!!!

SO IRONIC that you said that, because that's exactly what happened to me 2 days ago. I was like "Seriously, they even come way out here??" I mean, I am WAY out in the woods. This is only my opinion of course, but I am really bothered by any religious group that peddles their religion like a Kirby vacuum. I just don't understand the concept. When I found that Buddhism was the right belief system for me, it never occurred to me to try and convert all my friends to Buddhism, that's just silly. If they took interest and asked, sure, I would share what I know. But knocking on their door & trying to get them "on my team"? No way! Sorry, that's not religion, that's a cult.

One person a while back said that their religion was the only religion " in the world" that doesn't believe in participating in war. Seriously? And they are telling a Buddhist this. I'm like, "You really need to educate yourselves on world religions and beliefs before you go around making such claims".

And the ironic thing is, that I really wouldn't mind exchanging opinions and views, if they were willing to do that. But they are not. They are not at your house to learn anything, only to "teach you what's right". Man, that bugs me.

I KNOW!!!! I minored in humanities- and it makes me sick how closed minded some people are. We recently had a little facebook scandal in our county, and my son was mentioned on the local chat (topix) as being Buddhist. You wouldn't believe how many people associate buddhism with terrorism! WTH?

Anyway- I used to have a big door mat that said "GO AWAY" . Now I'd like to have one made that says "BEWARE OF POOP" We got plenty of that on this little farm, and I ain't afraid to step on anybody's feet!

My mom is 86 years old, lives by herself deep in the woods. "They" still find her and try to pawn off their religious literature on her. She smiles sweetly, gets her bible, (she keeps one by the door just for that purpose), and says, "Let me tell you about my Jesus". They leave pretty fast. (Of course she doesn't let them in the house).

We haven't been bothered by any of them for quite a while now, but I swear the next one who does I'm saying "I don't believe that human sacrifice OR cannibalism saves squat so leave me alone" Should offend them enough to get them scooting... certainly worked on the MIL.

Now, if only the landscape peeps would quit leaving crap on the door and taped to the mailbox... and I swear in the last month we've gotten four phone books... who needs that many phone books? Keep in mind this happens every year. What a waste of paper.

I can't believe anyone in this 'enlightened' age would associate Buddhism and terrorism... are they really THAT ignorant? Wow.

Saw the one that instead of Yard Sale said CRAP YOU MIGHT NEED -->

HA! this page has several good ones... including plain old address signs but I liked this one...

and the No Solicitors, No Newspapers, No Anything, No Kidding... they forgot landscapers but I reckon you can't have everything.

Thats seriously dangerous! I never open the door for anyone where they could come in.... if he opended the door and came in on his own, call the police.

I refuse to "entertain" anyone I don't know at my door if I didn't ask them to come over. I just say I'm not interested in what ever you're peddling, please get back in you car and leave and I close the door.

Eeeek! I had some one do that to me once, I tried to push the door shut and they stuck their foot in and walked in. I walked very fast out the back door with the phone in my hand calling 911.

BTW, my sister actually owns a retired military dog who is a trained attack dog. The insurance company told her NOT to put up a warning sign because that would be a clear indication she knew her dog was dangerous. I hate lawyers sometimes. They told her to put up a clear private property no trespassing sign. But, then they went on about how if the property was not clearly marked all of the way around and some one "wandered on" she could still be liable.

They just had local elections here and the fellow up at the local gas station told my Dh how he came out to his dogs going nuts at the car in the driveway. Apparently the man in the car completely ignored all the "beware of dogs" and "attack dogs" and "no trespassing" signs.

The friend said he asked the man was he capable of reading and the man said yes he could read that's why he stayed in the car. The friend then asks the man why is he in the driveway then. The man responds with, I've come to ask for your vote!

Needless to say the friend tells the man he's purposefully voting for the other guy cause obviously HE can read since he never showed up on his property!!

^ Ah now that's a good point.... perhaps something along the lines of...

If you can't read NO TRESPASSING then you can't read a religious text, a newspaper, a landscaping plan, a magazine, or the Constitution and can't possibly be at all more educated about any of those than I already am.

I have WHAT in my yard? :

The law here says that posting signs every x # of feet (60 maybe??) is sufficient for marking your property. No fence required. Signs are cheap.
It's easy to find out how to "legally" post your property if you look up hunting regulations --- plenty of hunting land isn't fenced but it's still legally defendable against tresspassers.
