Hatched the 1st of August $8 retail here, you are wholesaling them. Did he ask that you deliver them for free?or Maybe that he could take all but 5; hoping that you will give him the last 5.? Or that he can buy young pullets all day for $2. All of these fall under the same catagory. All of these are designed to get them cheaper. I don't sell to strong arm tactics; but it also gets my ads flagged on Craigslist. I would say the guy may even be a no-show,just pulling your chain. I get people that tell me they aren't buying any chickens but want me to give them a free tour of the farm. Sounds like a great price for young hens! They get scarce around here.

Your price is way too low.
I would ask a minumum of 18-20 bucks for a pullet that is almost ready to lay.

RIR pullets that age go for 22-24 bucks here at the auction.

Pullets are selling here for $10-15 per bird so he's trying to con you. If he's unhappy screw him and sell the birds to someone else.

That guy is getting a heck of a deal! Earlier this week, I brought home 10 laying hens for $70 and thought I was getting a good deal! (the people were downsizing their flock) If he doesn't want to pay it, I am sure someone else who appreciates them will come along and snatch them up!

alot of people try to haggle or give some kind of story when you sell things. that is just life.

but if i am looking to buy something i do my research and know what is a fair deal. the guy buying from you should have done the same.
i would not worry about it. you know it is fair and you are not trying to pull the wool over his eyes. from what you said you are adding to the purchase. so he is getting extra!

i would warn him of prey that might get his birds from free ranging on 36 acres though.

I drove 2 hrs to pay 96.00 for 12 BR 18 wk old pullets and was very pleased with the deal. Tell him you found another buyer and list them on Craigslist!

MAN! Where were you when I wanted to get started??? Yeah, this guy is getting an awesome deal. You are not getting an awesome deal on you birds. I know that sometimes people will reduce the price per bird if you buy several. But yours is bargain basment! I wouldn't give him any extras...no! He's getting 19 birds for less than anyone I know!!!
