i know we're supposed to expect loss; but when it's my fault/or within my range of control, it's even more devastating.

Like my last broody hatch, 2 of the eggs disappeared, couldn't find them anywhere... until the next day, when I checked my fridge!! I'd collected them by mistake thinking they were extras that had been laid. Cracked them open and there were beautiful tiny embryos in there. :hit

I am so sorry you lost them .. I have 4 silky that go broody often, thankfully they have no rooster so only fertile eggs are with my big girls
 
She made it!! I can't believe that even with a drop in temperature to around 60 degrees for hours on day 21, then warming in a heating pad tent, and then being placed in a amazon box incubator with a heating lamp and varying temps and low humidity, this little chick SURVIVED! Now I just have to come up with a good name...and somewhere to raise it in the house, lol.
