@TCCL Hmmmm bottle rockets! I never thought of that! I've fired off a few warning shots but they must know they are protected b/c it doesn't phase them. I bet a bottle rocket would send a clear message!

Air predators are my absolute worst fear - we have so many - a bald eagle and 2 hawks have been here lately. I almost walk on top of my ducks when they are foraging in the yard - which is not very often lately b/c they are very aware of the big sky since all of the leaves have fallen...

Yep. I highly recommend it. Get a lot of bottle rockets, a wind proof (plasma) lighter, set up some launching stations and everytime you see the hawks, fire away relentlessly. If everytime a human is out there and there are exploding projectiles come at them....most if, not all creatures will learn to look for lunch somewhere else.
