HELP! I assisted a duckling before internal pipping!

Nothing wrong with Muscovy they are great birds.

Very sorry you lost your ducklings. :(
Thank you. I agree. It's just that I searched a lot about khaki Campbell and felt like I want it.

Nevermind, I will most likely get muscovy. Like you said, they are great birds. I have read a bit about them and it is interesting. Although I heard they are very different from other ducks. I heard they sound like geese. Does that mean they are noisy? Will it disturb the neighbors more than other ducks or chickens?

They are called quackless ducks becasue they don't quack Drakes huff and females make a quiet trilling sounds. They do fly though so to keep them home you'll probably have to clip one wing on each. I love my Muscovy. They are definitely in a class all their own which makes them not from the Mallard. like other domestic ducks. You said island where are you?

I am in Malaysia. I don't live in an island, but I said I had the khaki Campbell duck eggs got delivered to me from an island in Malaysia to my house, which is probably why they didn't hatch, although they weren't expensive. (One egg was 1.5 MYR, which is equivalent to $0.32)

So are they noisy? Are they any noisier than other ducks? Because I don't want my neighbors to be annoyed. Do they actually sound like a goose?

Also, do you have any advice on how to choose the best muscovy duckling when buying? I don't want to choose all males or all females, and also don't want to choose some that will die in few days.

I haven't ever heard my Muscovy sounds like a goose. Every once in a while if I have to pick one of my females up she'll let out one quack but believe me I have Runners and Buffs and Cayuga and if I didn't have them no one would know I had ducks the Muscovy are very quiet.

Ok thank you very much. I read that online and I wasn't sure if it's correct or not.

There is really no telling on ducklings what sex they are unless you wait till around 5-6 weeks before you get the Muscovy then the females have slowed down in growing and the drakes keep on growing. My drake weighed around 15 lbs in his prime my females weight 4-6 lbs. When looking at ducklings they should be alert and busy, by busy I mean not laying around looking sick. Clear eyes no discharge from nares.

Yeah I kind of could guess that because I know that with chickens. But I don't know specifically for muscovy, because I know a chicken breed were chicks that are female will have what looks like eyeliner around its eyes and the male will have nothing around its eyes so we could tell since they're small, even though most breeds doesn't have such things.

Thank you for your advice.
