Do you think she might have gotten into something that poisoned her?Walking around nibbling is a good sign. hope your vet will be able to help.
I live in Alaska and we don't really have rats where I live and there was no way one was getting into the pen. Its fully enclosed.I think she was poisoned by something. I have seen chickens vomit, and quail. She probably ate rat poison, or ate a rat that was poisoned. ( All the birds I have ever had has eaten rats, and other birds, we have cats so there is no need to put out poison)
What does she normally eat? Has she laid an egg recently? Any chance a predator got ahold of her? Did you examine her for any injuries or anything stuck in her throat?
